OKLAHOMA ELEMENTARY SCHOOL ADMINISTRATOR OF THE YEAR

Congratulations to Karen Heizer, principal at Hoover Elementary School, who was named Administrator of the Year by the Oklahoma Association of Elementary School Principals.  We first photographed Karen when she was selected as Enid Public Schools Teacher of the Year in 1993 while at Glenwood Elementary.  This honor follows numerous awards and recognition achieved throughout her career as an educator.  As principal at Hoover for the past eleven years, she and her staff have led Hoover to national recognition as a National Blue Ribbon School.  Her philosophy of “be kind and work hard” is exemplified by her own actions, as well as the vision of the Hoover staff -
“Every child, every chance, every way, every day.”
Karen will be honored at a ceremony to be held in Washington, D.C., in October.  Thank you, Karen, for all you have done for the children of Enid!

the Ingelses ... Casual and Relaxed

Some times our title of a post says it all!
This was an additional session from the Hayeses 50th anniversary sitting posted last week. It is always a great idea to have these extra family portraits taken when the opportunity presents itself.
What a great, fun evening we had with this family.

Four Generations of Cooks ... and Shepards

The Granddaughter and Grandmother on our left are dressed alike.
The Grandmother and Granddaughter on our right are dressed alike.
And the client and her mother are next to each other.
All of this, clothing and color, props, pose, background were all thought out in advance, planned. Therefore, the session itself was relaxed, fun, and calm.
And it shows, an heirloom portrait and work of art for their homes.

Amina ... Compatible with her Brother

Miss Amina is the big sister of Rhys from the Dr. Fagan display posts.
We love the opportunity to create a companion portrait, but it does present some challenges.
For instance,
     what about poses,
     what about lighting,
     what about clothing,
     what about expression.
After all, it's a different day, a different person with different tastes.
We always advise our clients up front about these differences.
Then we suggest compatibility. Different but similar, tied together by background colors, matching frames and the size of faces. Hung together on the wall to tell "two stories" within "one story".
Our thanks to Amina in making this portrait easy ... "Good Job"!
